Good shopping deal!

I have recently found this great place with most of the clothes selling at RM5-RM15. I bet you must have heard of this place, Kenanga Wholesale City.

The F.O.S there sells clothes cheaper than those at other shopping malls. They usually have buy 1 get 1 free deal and is located at the North Wing-Ground Floor. Just above F.O.S, on the 2nd floor at the corner, there is this amazing shop that sells clothes from RM5-RM15.

Here are some of the examples:-
RM5 top.

 RM10 top
RM15 skinny jeans
RM10 (for a pair of pyjamas)
RM15 pants

There are lots more, even adults 'branded' T-shirt (e.g Nike/Puma/Adidas etc), reasonably good quality is only RM 5 each and jean shorts for adult/kids are only RM10 per pair.

I usually will spend about RM200 in that shop but come back with lots of clothes. If we go to normal shopping centre, I think RM200 may get you 2-3 pieces of clothes.

With those sort of prices, we do not need to worry shopping for clothes for our kids and concern that they will out grown their clothes shortly.

The mall also has shops selling all sort of clothing ranging from women, men, Muslims, children and other including bags, toys, jewellery, hair accessories, house hold stuff, stationery and etc. If you are planning for a party with theme (princess, Minion, Angry bird, Ben 10 etc etc), you can easily find party pack goodies like bags, stationery, key chain, soft toys and etc over there.

They also have a non halal food court at 7th floor and other halal food outlets scattering at different level.

Be prepare with comfortable shoes and clothing including trolley bag as there are 7th floors and you will take hours just to browse around.

So, spend your money wisely and enjoy your shopping.

Good Online Shopping Website.

I came across this website via the side bar advertisement at Facebook. This website sells off season good quality stuff. I am a big fan of it and has since bough clothings, watches, bags, household items, towels, baby equipment/accessories from them. The delivery take longer time but the quality is good.

Here are some of the items that I brought from the website Mysale with great value and quality:

Mambo is a established brand of surf wear in Australia. The above bottom and top only cost RM29 each. They are the most practical swimwear that comes with UV protection. It could prevent sunburn even better than apply sun cream.

The halloween costumes that I bought maybe 9-12months ahead of Halloween and only cost around RM30-50 each.

RM30-RM40 canvas shoes

Best Mattress for Toddler

This is a follow up from my diaper free post. I think maybe after the twins were 1 year old, we have re-decorated the bedroom with new beds and guardrail.  We have chosen the mattress from Ikea for the kids' bed http://www.ikea.com/my/en/catalog/products/50213259/

The key features for the mattress as listed is as follows:-
Key features
Two different comfort surfaces. The eggbox-shaped surface relieves pressure and has better air circulation than the flat side.
- The cover can be machine washed which helps keep a hygienic sleeping environment for your child.
- Both sides can be slept on - it lasts longer, and keeps fresh for longer.
- Breathable jersey cover that is soft and nice to your child's skin.
The mattress is definitely the best find with the washable feature as it has a zipped along cover. Imagine the sick nights with the children pukes and their pee pee 'accident'.
Just thought I should share this. I have seen some household with children and has occasionally bringing the kids mattress for a 'sun bathing' but that do not really get rid of the bacteria and maybe part of the smell away but with the above mattress, you can always wash and hygiene will not be a major concern.

Good vacation Villa for Family Vacation

I have booked Airasia tickets since early this year for us to go Krabi in January 2013 and it only cost us RM1000 for the 7 of us with return tickets, hot seats and sufficient baggages!

Anyway, I came across these villas in Bali and Krabi. I think it is good for a family holiday. You have   a kitchen for cooking and your private own pools, and if you feel posh enough, you could get the chef to cook for you too! Also, own Tuk Tuk service and transfers from and to Airport, the transportation is already worth a bit of saving. Kids can play around instead of stuck in a confine space of a hotel room and you can be more relax with your time table, like cooking on your own and if the kids are tired, they can take a nap or go anywhere you like with the in house Tuk Tuk service.

Here are the villas:-

Villas in Krabi, Thailand
Villas in Bali (the are more villas website in Bali, you can google for them like Seminyak villa and etc).

Formulated Milk Powder - Constant search for Good Deal

I am all up for good value of formulated milk powder. People should understand my position with 3 very young kids. The milk powder could cost you a bomb!

It was through my friend's recommendation that I started to give my first born 'Enfalac' infant milk formula. My friend's sister was working with Mead Johnson and was entitled to 'staff' discount. So, I usually will get like RM10 discount in comparison to the normal market price. So everything was cool then, until I have the twins and my friend's sister was no longer working there. I struggle with the  thoughts of changing to a cheaper brand of milk but Dr. Prashant advised me to stick to the same brand for the twins.

Again, God was great to me and my friend helped me to get cartons of sample of infant milk for free!!! My daughter who has enzyema problem and has to consume 'HA' milk and again my friend and a paediatrician was kind enough to sell me the sample for RM10 which in normal market price is RM30+++. So, I sailed through the kids's first year with discounted or free milk formula.

I have the shock after their first year and all of them are consuming Enfagrow A+. There is no doctor, friend, paediatrician there anymore to help me to get any discounted milk or samples. The 3 of them can consumed up to RM1000 worth of milk formula! Shocking amount to pay just for milk, right?

I have no choice but have to keep a constant look out for milk and stock them up when there is promotion. I remembered last year's Enfagrow A+ cost around RM85-89 (after like 2-3 times of price increased!) and I managed to stock up when Tesco was having promotional price like RM79, those stocks last me like 3-4 months. You can imagine the price I have to pay at that time to stock up!!

And came this year, the price has increased up to RM106 for 1.7kg. During promotion, the price could be around RM98.99/tin. I was lucky at the beginning of this year that Carefour and Tesco was having promotion for this and I managed to get like 4 cartons and cost me RM89.99/tin and I still have some balance of stocks.

On last Saturday and Sunday, Tesco again is having a promotion and the price was RM89.99/tin and again I managed to get 3 carton and my eldest boy is turning 4 next week and he will be changing to Enfakid A+ and I managed to get a carton for that for RM82.99/tin. So, I am stock up (hopefully) till August this year!!

However, as the children grow older, the milk consumption drop too, maybe to RM400-500 a month.

I know of a website that selling cheaper 'Enfa' milk in comparison to the market price. If you are interested to buy in bulk, do check this up :Cheap Enfa milk

Children cost the majority of our household bill with their:-

1. Food
2. Milk
3. Education + Transportation
4. Food supplement (vitamin and etc.)
5. Maid to look after them!!
6. Doctor's visit
7. Toys! mainly 'Junk' too
8. Etc.

My Dear Warehouse Sale (23 Feb- 4th March)

Mydear warehouse sale is back. For those who are looking for good deal for baby stuff like walker, stroller, bedding, infant furniture, toiletries and children's battery operated cars and playground equipment. Mydear usually have 3 warehouse sales a year.

The location is a bit far out, located at Meranti Industrial Park, Puchong.

To me, the quality is not too bad, baby grows fast, most of the equipments and items are mainly for short term usage and their prices are justified for this short term usage. However, the bedrails that I bought 2 years ago still last till today and the battery operated car is still functioning.

The place is far (for those who are not staying at the area) and crowd. If you can and you have young children, try not to bring them along. They also usually have some toys for sale but you need to really check them as some could be defective.

Here is mydear website. The prices shown are yet to be discounted. Can expect further discount of 20%-50% depends on the products.

Air Asia and Firefly Sales

Wow, the big sales are back. Did you manage to get any?

I am usually lucky. The last Airasia 0 fare sales, I managed to get tickets to go Langkawi in August this year in conjunction with my darling hubby's birthday. So, for the 7 of us (4 adults and 3 kids inclusive of my 2 maids) is only RM501.00, this include all add-ons like insurances, baggage of 30kg and selected seats. We kept going back to Langkawi because:-

  • The journey is short. We can handle an hour journey with the kids with no problem
  • It is convenient. We can hire a car with very reasonable price like RM80/day for an MPV, so we are mobile.
  • We know the people and places well. We know where to go and where to eat
  • Things are cheap there!!!! It is duty free. If you get your supply from a shop, the beer is only RM1.30/can. We have seafood dinner for 9 and it only cost us RM100 including drinks!!
  • We love the beach and bar there. We can eat and drink and the kids can play there for hours and meet with different children from different part of the world everyday.
  • The children love the beach and hotel pool

So, come this sale again, I managed to get tickets to Krabi at RM7 one way, with all the add-ons including giving ourselves a treat of 'hot seats', it cost around RM1500 for the 7 of us again. Very good deal. We decided to venture out of our comfort zone (Langkawi) and take a bigger step on a longer flight journey with the kids. That is why we decided since it is a 2 hours journey, we are going for the hot seats with bigger leg room.

Anyway, Firefly is also having a great sale for travelling from Mar - Oct 2012 and for Langkawi trip, the return ticket is only RM38 per person. I considered this as a very good deal too, as you fly from Subang and that will save you your taxi fares.

Just a little tip, I usually managed to get ticket at around 8am-9am in morning. I guess this is the time most office workers are busy travelling on the road to work and the website will not be so busy!

Good luck to those who are trying to get some cheap tickets!

Forget the Valentine day, for married couple with kids, like The Star paper's article said, we prefer a holiday break or get away with our family than the chocolate and roses.

My Blog Follower Gave Me A Fridge

Can you believe this? I actually got a fridge from one of my blog follower/reader.

Thank you PJ once again. PJ is pregnant and due in November. She needed a bigger fridge to accommodate the extended family, the maid and the little baby. We chatted a few times about pregnancy, maid's issues and become friends. She asked me would I like to have her old fridge. It is not old at all, it looks brand new, actually.

I am struggling  to fit all stuff in my fridge too, so I thought why not! She has wrapped it up properly and it got deliver to my house!

Now, the children claim that this is their fridge and they like to store their drinks and junks in it.

Getting Good Deal-Baby Clothing and Equipment

Now that I have 3 children, I need to spend wisely and constantly in look up for good deals. This include basic tasks like browse through your Friday and weekend paper for the discount wars among the hypermarkets especially diapers and milk formula offers.

I am proud that I have so far, maybe once or twice bought the normal rack rate of Mamypoko in range of RM56.90. I usually got the deal around RM40.99-RM43.99. It was crazy 2 weeks ago, when Tesco was selling Enfagrow A+ at RM79.99, the original rack rate is around RM107.99. One family is only entitle to purchase 5 tins. So, my husband and myself went early in the morning and pretended we do not know each other and paid for the 5 tins each in separate counters.

Baby equipment : For those first time parents, if you can,  try to get 2nd hand stuff like; baby cot, walker, stroller, bath tub (the big items) from your friends or relatives. It is really no point getting the new ones, your baby grows out of them without you even realise it. If you can't, try MYDEAR's warehouse sale. I think they usually have it in 3 months interval around Mar, June, Sept and Dec. I find the quality of their products are acceptable, the prices are very reasonable for short term use. So, if you are pregnant now, do plan wisely to get this good deal. They are situated somewhere in Puchong. They will usually advertise in major newspapers.

Clothes: I searched on website for wholesale dealer and negotiate a deal of able to mix and match purchase but with condition of each purchase must be at least RM500. I went there sometimes with my friend and sometime just my own once or twice in a year. With the 3 children now, you can easily achieve the minimum purchase in no time. You can really get good deal from the wholesaler. For example, a size 2T-3T boy polo shirt, may cost you RM39.90-RM59.90 but only RM16-RM22 at wholesale price. They are mainly branded stock overrun for brands like, Polo, Burberry, Zara, CK and etc. Baby romper will cost around RM5-RM10. For those Carter brand baby rompers, a set of 5; may cost only RM20-25.

You can also visit www.onlinebabywear.com, they are selling clothes slightly above wholesale price but still much cheaper than those selling in shops or other online stores.

Getting rid of used stuff : If I have friend to loan to or give away some of my children's stuff, I will be happy to do so or donation but some of the stuffs you have, are hardly being used and still on very good condition. I sell them online. Mudah.com is a very good platform. I have sold the children's walker, baby cot, high chair, winter clothing, stroller and etc. via the website. The money collected from the sale will usually go to  the children's milk formula kitty!

It is not easy, financially; with even just a child nowadays. Visit to doctor, injections, their food, milk formula, education and your hospital bill to give birth cost great deal of money. You may have extra costs like extra maid, bigger car or bigger house if you are having twins or more!!!
