Contests- Are you happy with the end result/winner?

Recently, contests like; the cutest baby, best family photos and even the Johnson baby contest require public vote or your friends to vote online. At the end, the contestant who got the most votes win. 

Has this ever cross your mind whether the winner genuinely deserved to win at the end? I have recently participated in this online contest. I now realised you can actually exchange votes with others. Some even posted saying they can exchange up to 30 votes or person you don't even know voted for you and requested you to do the same. I was so naive that these votes are of genuine people who really support or like your entry. I was stubborn and did not voted back to any of these people who voted for me unless I find their entry is genuinely nice.

So, to stand a great chance of winning, even your submission is 'not up to standard', all you need to do is get all your friends/links to vote and exchange with others!!!!! This is unbelievable and unacceptable to me.

KL MOTOR SHOW 2010 - THE BOYS' THINGS

Life has changed with the present of the children. So it is no longer just about the 2 of us. We usually stayed at home watched couples of CDs or hang out with some friends for drinks and lunch.

We are never a fan of exhibitions/fairs. Don't like to get into the crowds, the jams and the going round and round for a car park.

So, we are now becoming the usual parent crowds to do things, claimed to be the best for our children. Last weekend, we brave ourselves into the crowds, the jam and the limited car park; to take Jack to the KL Motor Show 2011 at PWTC. Also, mind carrying a 14-15 kg child around from Hall 1 to Hall 4, up and down the staircases. This is really HARD WORK.

But the smile on his face when seeing all the cars and his little voice on "it is so much fun. Thank you mummy, Thank you daddy" justifies our effort.

How Time Flies!!!!!!

I still remembered very well when Jack was 1. We have organised a party for him too, but was not so attentively to the details. It was more like party for adults (eating and drinking) for them.

If you ask me what is the different between Jack and the twins when they were 1, I would say:-

1. I must admit I do not know the twins that well. I was less attentively to them. Most probably because the maids are very capable and I have Jack too, to attend to.

2. Physical growth - they are about the same size as Jack. Weigh wise, Jack tops them all. Length wise, Dylan tops them all.

3. Brain Development - The twins are slower than Jack. Most probably the time and opportunity to spend time, read to them and talk to them is limited.

4. Eating habits - all are good. They eat anything and all the time.

Some of you might thinks what sort of parents we are, sounded like we care less of the twins than Jack.  

Hey, it is not an easy job. Imagine this, you come home, you pick up 1 kid, 1 will be screaming for you to carry him/her and Jack will be pulling you, to try to talk to you, to get you to do something and etc. 

We try our best to spend time with them, play with them and also allocate 1 to 1 time with them, but time is never enough, right. At least, we don't leave them to the maids at them. We take care of all 3 of them at night.

The Twins Are 1

Finally, the party, the celebrations are all over. The Twins have turned 1. 

Here are the details of as planned vs actual:-

1. The Theme and  The party Planner

We managed to stick to 'Dibo the gift Dragon' theme. So the mineral water, chocolate bars, Balloons and the party decorations were supplied by Razzle Dazzle Party Box (the party planner). Unfortunately, the party planner was not able to provide her service on 17th Nov as it was Hari Raya Haji.

As there was no helium gas available, the bouquet of balloons was not possible

2. The Cake

In view of the budget, I have scaled down the design of the cake to 2D instead of 3D. The cake was prepared by Jessica.

And, I made this myself, less sugar for the children. Yeah, mind the decoration. Not bad for first trial, right?

3. The Photographer

Of course, it is going to be Anna-Rina. Look at these 'juicy' photographs.

4. The Caterer

Not the best but was reasonable and most important, there was enough food for everybody.

5. The Door gift

It was the wall stickers that I have got from the 'flea' market in Amcorp mall. And the labels was from living cabin in Mid Valley.

6. Guests

The turn-out was about 90%. Some confirmed but no show. That is life!

At least, Jack's friends were there!

So, that's my duty done as parents. No more big style celebration/party. From age 2 onwards, will be just a cake and few candles!!!!!

Everybody has to babysit. This include big brother, Jack, who is only 2.5 years old. It is really not an easy job.

I have noticed a few of my friends on facebook are doing the 'sketch your photo'. I tried it on my own and found it extremely amazing. Like one of the user commented ' how can he stop?'

My cute baby and Career Bear Contest

I saw this advertisement during my normal weekend groceries shopping at Carefour. So, I thought maybe should just try my luck. They were having a photo shot session in Carefour.

Apart from buying the Sofy or MamyPoko products of RM 50.00, you actually will need to pay extra for the photo shot by De One Digital Photo Studio. Their package is RM 48.00 comprises of 2 x 4R photo and 1 x 8R photo (for contest). As usual they will try to convince you into buying more and more. My mind was focus, I decided no matter how they persuade me or how lovely the children look, I will spend no more than the RM48.00.
